Bessie Taylor Moss, 95, of Madison Heights, Va., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Lynchburg General Hospital following a short illness.
Bessie was the oldest member of Elon Baptist Church. Born on October 17, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Edna Watts Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Andrew Moss who she loved with all her heart. She was also preceded in death by three siblings, “Little Robert” Taylor, Edward Taylor, and Opal Taylor Eubank. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Brenda Moss and Wade and Joy Moss; five grandchildren, Vicky Beck, Elizabeth Meadows (Mark), Mellissa Hundley (Keith), Kristen Dixon (Morgan), and Angel Lang (Kevin); and seven great-grandchildren, Dallas and Dyllan Beck, Casey and Will Hundley, Kenzie and Gavin Dixon, and Ella Lang. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Marita Taylor and Judith Saunders; and many wonderful nieces, especially her niece, Elois Jennings, that was like a daughter; nephews and friends. Bessie was loved by many and will be missed greatly.
A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Elon Baptist Church, Madison Heights, Va. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. immediately following the visitation and will be officiated by the Rev. Steve Tyree. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
