Betsy Lenora Myers Greer died on November 3, 2017, in Lynchburg, Virginia.
She was born July 4, 1933, in Lexington, N.C. where she lived for the next 40 years. Betsy was the third daughter of Ezra Lewis Myers and Ida Craver Myers. On June 18, 1954, she was married to Robert H. Greer, and was the love of his life until his death in 2012. A 1951 graduate of Lexington Senior High School, she attended and graduated as a Registered Nurse from Cabarrus School of Nursing in Kannapolis, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2012, and by her son LT Dwight Greer, USN, in 1982. She is survived by her daughter Suzanne Greer Byars (Randall) of Gaffney, S.C.; her sons, Andy Greer (Michelle) of Columbia, S.C. and Brad Greer (Cynthia) of Lynchburg, Va.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Whitney Byars Ramsey (Matt), Katherine Byars McKinney (James), Matthew Byars (Tori), Christopher Byars (Kristen), Hollie Byars, Sharon Byars, Ashley Greer Hilbish (Nathan), Madison Greer, and Spencer Greer. Betsy was blessed with eleven great-grandchildren: Rachel, Eli, Brady, and Julianne Ramsey, Gabi, Sarah, Evan, Matthew, David, and Emma Grace McKinney, and Noah Byars.
A graveside service of remembrance and celebration will be held at 2 p.m. on December 3, 2017, at Fort Hill Memorial Park in Lynchburg, Va. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Brad and Cindy Greer, 232 Chelsea Drive, Forest, Va.
In lieu of flowers the children request donations to any of the following charities: Debra.Org (in honor of Julianne Ramsey), or The Jesus Film Project.
