Betty Frances Eubank King

Betty Frances Eubank King, 91, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Forest Health & Rehab. She was born on May 24, 1933, in Bedford to the late Richard Louis Eubank, Sr. and Frances Eliza Bell Eubank. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Evine “Shorty” Elbert King; son, Michael James King; daughter, Vicky King Smedley; brothers, Richard Louis Eubank, Jr. and Alexander Alton Eubank and sister, Doris Marie King.

Betty was a active member at Ebenezer Church where she sang in the choir. She had a love for the Atlanta Braves Baseball team. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Lipford (Jody) and Patricia East (Jeffrey); grandchildren, Julie Brown, Gregory Smedley, Eli Thoms, Laura Smedley, Dori Coblentz, Jonathan Lipford, Justin Lipford, Jimmy Lipford, Sara Walter and John East; thirteen great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Ronald James Eubank; daughter-in-law, Ilene King and son-in-law, Thomas Smedley.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Tharp Funeral Chapel, Bedford with the Rev. Mark Wilkerson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
