Betty Jane Torbert Bowyer, 79, of Bedford, died Wednesday, November 16, 2016. She was the wife of the late Francis Molen Bowyer, Jr. for 57 years.
Born May 9, 1937 in South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late John Raleigh Torbert and Edna Nell Slough Torbert. She is also preceded in death by one son; Victor Bowyer, one brother and one sister.
Betty enjoyed reading and volunteering, she was a member of Sedalia Baptist Church.
Betty is survived by her sons; Randy and Mark Bowyer; daughter; Gail Regina Lindsay; sister; Cathy Dent; brothers; Jack, Dick and Harry Torbert; 7 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family will have a private graveside service.
