Betty Jean Bradley Massie

June 18, 1940 — February 16, 2019

Betty Jean Bradley Massie, 78, of Lynchburg, passed over to eternal peace Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Lynchburg General Hospital after a courageous battle with Cancer and Parkinson’s disease.  She was the loving wife of Jewel Fredy Massie for 59 years. 

Betty, lovingly referred to as “Betsy”, was born June 18, 1940 to the late Fuller R. Bradley and the late Erma Dinkle Bradley in Moneta, Va. She was a member of Amazing Grace Ministries, enjoyed bowling for many, many years, and was a member of the United States Bowling Congress. 

In addition to her husband, her survivors include her sisters, Phyllis Bradley, Gay Dennis, Dina Payne, and Carleen Clark; brothers, Garland Bradley and Billy Ray Bradley; and her brothers-in-law, James Massie (Gerri) and Sherly Massie. Betty was preceded in death by her sister Shirley Harper and her brother Richard “Buckey” Bradley. 

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, February 21, 2019 in Virginia Memorial Park with Pastor Bill Evans officiating.
