Betty Jean Higgins Erickson, 67 of Coleman Falls, Va., departed this life Monday, November 13, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital, with her family by her side.
Betty was born February 10, 1950 in Rockbridge County, Va., a daughter of the late Flossie and Morris Rice.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur George Erickson; children, Michael Thomas, Melissa Erickson and Charlie; two granddaughters, Starr Reynolds and Winter Hamilton; a great-granddaughter, Ma’Raya Reynolds; two brothers, Roy Higgins and Jerry Higgins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Carl “Wayne” Higgins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Tharp Funeral Home, Care of Betty Erickson Funeral Fund, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
