Our beloved Mother, Betty Milton McMillan, 85, of Roanoke, departed this life on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. She was the loving wife of Hugh Jackson McMillan.
Born February 9, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Lloyd Milton and Maggie Carter Milton. Betty retired from Rubatex and was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter: Dreama McMillan; Son, Hugh J., Jr. (Jackie); two grandchildren: Sara Chesser, Trey McMillan,; great-granddaughter McKenna Chesser; special brother-in-law Wilson McMillan and wife Mary, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service and celebration of Betty’s life will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Epworth United Methodist Church in Thaxton with Rev. Jeane Dunkum and Rev. June Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday January 25, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford.
Flowers are welcomed, and memorial contributions may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church in Thaxton, or the American Heart Association in her honor.
