Betty Padgett Sorrels

On Sunday, June 19, 2011, the Heavenly Father called home Betty Dawson Sorrels.  Born September 10, 1933 to the parents of Henry and Grace Dawson of Lynchburg, she was a devoted daughter.

 She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, faithfulness and loyalty to her family and all who knew her.  Her life was focused on compassionate caregiving to others.  Her kind heartedness and selflessness to others was abundant.  She placed her highest priority on raising her family and being a loving wife.  Her laughter always filled the room with warmth.

 She leaves behind her husband Pete Sorrels, daughter Pam Wiklund and husband Gary Wiklund; grandson Chad Wiklund; sisters-in-law Betty Powell and husband Pete, Shirley Carter and husband Leslie; Barbara McLane and her late husband, Curtis and  Joyce Goodman.

 She was preceded in death by her late husband Lloyd Stevens (Jack) Padgett.

 She retired from Tultex and was a member of Fairview United  Methodist Church. She was a lifelong member as a Rebekah.

 A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg on Wednesday, June 22, 2001 at 6:00 p.m. with Bobby Martin officiating.  The visitation will be held from 4:00 \"" 6:00 p.m. prior to the service.

 The family requests donations be made to 2011 Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 811 West Evergreen Avenue, Suite 204, Chicago, IL 60642.
