Betty “Sue” Green Womack, 67, of Forest, went to be with her daughter and brother in the Lord on October 27, 2018 after a short bout with pneumonia.

She was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on March 1, 1951, to parents Joe Franklin and Isabelle Price Green of Forest, Virginia.

Sue and Steven Gaines Womack married over 50 years of marriage “Who said eloping doesn’t last?”  She was known for her love of fishing, blue grass music, and plants and flowers – the only one in the house with a green thumb!  She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Isabell Green; sister, Minnie Lou Green; brother, Ray Franklin Green; nephew, James Green Jr.; and beloved daughter, Kirstie McHugh.

She is survived by her devoted and loving husband Steven Gaines Womack of Forest, Va.; her son, Rodney Gaines Womack and his wife Sandy; two beautiful granddaughters, Erin and Eva Womack; son-in-law,  Kirk McHugh; sisters, Lois Green, Kathy Younger and her husband Roland, all of Lynchburg, Va.; brother-in-law, Steve Greene, husband of the late Minnie Lou Greens of Concord, Va.;  sister-in-law, Sandra Green, wife of Ray Green of Forest, Va.; sister-in-law, Celia Broyles of Colonial Heights, Va.; brother-in-law, Wayne Smith and wife Eileen of Campbell County, Va.; brother-in-law, Sam P. Smith and wife Karen of Virginia Beach, Va.; numerous nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and nephews including a very special one, Jeremy Mason of Concord, Va.,  a very dear cousin Tom Larkin of Lynchburg, Va., and a beloved dog “Foxy”.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Tharp Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Mason officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24502.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lynchburg Humane Society.

We will always carry her memory in our hearts.
