Betty Wright Winslow
Betty Wright Winslow, 85, of Lynchburg, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at Medical Care Center. She was the wife of the late Frederic Charles Winslow.
Born in Lynchburg, September 14, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Charles Benjamin Wright and Edna Simpson Wright. Betty retired as a nurse and was a Hill City Master Gardner.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Murphy and husband, Chris of Shamong, NJ; a sister, Barbara W. Hall of Lynchburg; two grandsons, Patrick Murphy of Chicago, IL, and Peter Murphy of Bel Air, MD; a great-granddaughter, Isabella Murphy of Chicago,IL; three nieces, Midge Harper and husband Win of Monroe, Hannah Wilson and husband Carl of Greensboro, NC and Meg Carrington of Lynchburg; two nephews, Breck Hall of Richmond, Mack Callaham and wife, Betsy of Elon; an aunt, Mildred Wright Cooper of Madison Heights.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Callaham and a grandson Joseph Murphy.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date along with a private family graveside service to be held at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
