Betty Zeigler Jones, 84, of Forest, died Monday, November 13, 2017. She was the wife of Melvin “Spike” Delmer Jones for 60 years.
Betty was born April 30, 1933 in Franklin County, a daughter of the late Otha Zeigler and Flossie Young Zeigler. Betty was a devoted homemaker who loved spending time with her family and was a member of Timberlake United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters, Debbie Wood (Gary) and Donna Bennett (Billy) all of Rustburg; one sister, Norma Pagans of Rocky Mount; two granddaughters, Courtney (Jacob) and Kristen; and one great- grandson, Grayson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the church.
A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Timberlake United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brad McMullen officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
