Pastor Bill Evans (74), a devoted servant of God, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away after a long battle with his health. His unwavering faith and deep love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, defined a life dedicated to service, compassion, and grace.
Born to George Evans and Frances Schneider and Proceeded in death was his grandparents Henry and Hattie Evans who raised him. Bills journey led him to the love of his life, Judy Evans, with whom he shared a marriage built on faith, love, and partnership.
Together they raised their son Matthew Evans’s and daughter in law, Autumn. He is survived by son, Bill Evans II. Bill was also the proud grandpa of Jordan and Felix Evans, who brought light into his later years.
As the founder and Shepard of Amazing Grace Ministries, his first love was always his Savior and the mission to bring hope and healing to the lives he touched. A father to the fatherless, Pastor Bill was a friend, confidant, and compassionate guide to many.
Known for his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering commitment to the Gospel, he was more than a pastor to his congregation, he was a friend and beacon of light during dark times. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he impacted, the lessons he imparted, and the love he freely gave.
The family invites all who knew him to celebrate his life and the immeasurable impact he had on others. While his absence will be deeply felt, his memory and spirit live on in the hearts of those he touched. The celebration of life will be conducted by his son, Matthew, and friend, Alfred Dotson, at Amazing Grace Ministries at 11AM with visitation from 1-3pm on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
