Billy John Spinner

Billy John Spinner, 67, of Big Island, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

Billy was born on April 1, 1957, to the late Walter Calvin Spinner and Ella Louise Dabney Spinner in Bedford VA. Billy John was a brother of a family of seven siblings with four still here with us. He leaves behind his oldest sister, Peggy Dougals (Doug), Darlene Spinner, his baby sister, Nancy “Faye” Calloway (Mack), baby bother, Jimmy Wayne Spinner (Sheryl).

In addition to his siblings, Billy John was survived by his three children, Angela Bowyer (Bobby), Jonathan Spinner (Chelsea), and Crystal Spinner; and nine grandchildren, Rakwan, Donovan, Jayden, Adrien, Anthony aka (“BIG JOHN”), Justice, Nakiah, Nakayla, and little Aubrie. Dad was present in each and every one of his grandkid's lives. We are so Thankful for that for him and them.

A very special Thank You to his granddaughter Nakiah Spinner, we thank you for taking care of our dad your grandfather! We know it wasn't easy but we were so thankful for you to be by his side. We Love You He Loves You! XOXO’S

Billy John had many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that all knew him and fellowshipped with him in many ways. Good Ole Uncle John! AKA “Billy”, AKA “ The Bear”

If you know you know “YES, YES, YES!” his famous words when he was feeling extra good!

Ole Billy was a stay to himself type of person. He came and he went very quiet and peaceful. Loved for anyone to drive him around while he kept his arm hanging out the window chilling.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
