Bobby Allen Arrington, Sr.

Bobby Allen Arrington Sr., 85, of Goode, VA, passed away with family by his side on Thursday, June 30, 2016, and went to see his Sugar. He was the loving husband of the late Barbara Ann Arrington.
Bobby was born Saturday, September 6, 1930, in Bedford Co., Va., a son of the late John Wesley Arrington and Reaver Gillespie Arrington. He began his career as a carpenter at the age of sixteen and worked passionately becoming one of Lynchburg’s premier builders for over 60 years. He was a member of Boonsboro United Methodist Church.
Bobby was a beloved papa, husband, dad, and brother and will be sorely missed by his daughter, Kathy Arrington and husband, Garland Niday, of Roanoke; sons, Bobby A. Arrington, Jr. and wife, Shannon, of Forest, Michael D. Arrington and wife, Brooks, of Goode, Gary W. Arrington and wife, Cindy, of Forest, and Kent Arrington and wife, Stacey, of Bedford; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Dot Sandifer of Madison Heights, Iris Little of Lynchburg, and Peggy Tyree of Lynchburg; brothers, John W. Arrington, III, Dennie Arrington, and Charles Arrington, all of Lynchburg.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2016, at Tharp Funeral Home’s Lynchburg Chapel with Rev. Wes Gillespie officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.
