Bobby Lee Bateman, of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away on April 26, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. He was the son of the late James and Corrine Bateman.
Bobby was born on September 23, 1953, in Lynchburg, VA.
In addition to his wife, Denise Bateman, Bobby is survived by his children, Calita Dillard (Henry), Robert Bateman (Kimberly), Fahim Aquil (Brock), Belinda Andrews, Corey Bateman, and Brandon Bateman; grandchildren, Uniqua, Malik, Te’Onna, Henry (JR), Octavia, D’Eric, De’Nausia, D’Angelo, Jahmeer, Rashad, Ke’Miyaa, Presais, Haeden, Khadence, Quinzy, Declan, Starla, Alijah , Bryson, and Cyanna; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Nyla, Tatiana Mu’lahni, Kaiydence, Alani, Laila and Jayce; siblings, James Bateman (Caroyln), Doreathea Cabell (William) ,Nelson Bateman (Lillie), Seagpher Bateman, and Kenny Bateman; sister-in-law, Ann Bateman; a devoted friend Edward Payne; a special niece Kem Robinson; and many loving friends in the community.
In addition to his parents, Bobby is predeceased by his sister Mollie Morris.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Tharp Funeral Home with Hezekiah Morris officiating.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
