Bobby Ray Wooldridge

Bobby Ray Wooldridge, 70, of Lynchburg died Wednesday October 12, 2011 at his home. He was the loving husband of Carolyn West Wooldridge.

Bobby was born March 15, 1941 in Lynchburg a son of the late Allen Oscar Wooldridge, Sr. and Oma Treadway Wooldridge. Bobby was retired from the Lynchburg Foundry where he worked for 30 years and he also worked at Westminster Canterbury for 14 years. He loved sports, especially NASCAR and he followed many teams including Yankees Baseball, Washington Redskins, and the Liberty Flames Football team. Bobby was also a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons: Robert (Tony) Wooldridge and wife Denise; Wendell (Lee) Wooldridge, Sr. and wife Sheila; Kenneth Allen Wooldridge and wife Renee, all of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren: Wendell (Little Lee) Wooldridge, Jr. and wife Ruth; Michael Ray Wooldridge and fianc̩e Kendyl Yeatts; Brianne Wooldridge and fianc̩e Shiloh Pellman; Kenneth Allen Wooldridge, II and Trella Sprouse; Samantha (Sam) Wooldridge; Mary Catherine Wooldridge; and Andrew (Drew) Wooldridge, four great grandchildren: Lucas James Wooldridge; Landon Scott Wooldridge; Dillinger Atlus Wooldridge; Carson Olivia-Finn Wooldridge (who is due in November), one sister Edna Wooldridge, and a special niece Sandra Burnette.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. tonight Thursday October 13, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.

A Celebration of Bobby\Ӫs Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday October 14, 2011 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Diabetes Foundation, the American Heart Association, or to the Alzheimer\Ӫs Association.
