Bonnie Stubstad Swanson, 94, of Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024.
Bonnie was born on September 7, 1929, in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of the late Elwood & Iona Worthen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Marvin Stubstad, and a son Brad Stubstad.
She is survived by her husband John Swanson, a son Mark Stubstad, daughter-in-law Claudia Stubstad all of Lynchburg, four granddaughters Megan, Molly, Macy, Kaeli and grandson Kienan Stubstad, stepdaughters Sharon Oathes and husband Dennis of Albany, OR, Sheila Whitaker and husband Dana of Springfield, OR.
Bonnie lived in many states while married to Marvin, but lived most of her life in Portland, Oregon and Salt Lake City, Utah. She married John Swanson after the death of Marvin and they lived in Oregon, Tennessee and Virginia. They enjoyed the outdoors and golf.
Bonnie loved art of all kinds and did a variety of them. She loved to work and had several jobs during her working years. Her last job was running the Riversedge Furniture outlet store in Lynchburg, Va. She enjoyed meeting all the people who came into the outlet.
She loved her family very much and her church. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She will be laid to rest in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in Salt Lake City, Utah at a later date.
Any donations or gifts should be given to the Shriner's Children Hospital.
