Boyd Purvey Proffitt, 83, of Forest, VA, died Sunday, February 09, 2014.
Boyd was born Thursday, May 8, 1930 in Camden, NJ, a son of the late Raleigh Thomas Proffitt and Clara Bateman Proffitt. He proudly served our country in the U.S. during Korea.
He is survived by a nephew, Joseph Wise of Forest.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home. A celebration of Boyd's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory with Charles Foshie officiating.
