Brooklin Makhia Goff

February 21, 2003 — May 18, 2025

The world grew a little dimmer on Sunday, May 18, 2025, when Brooklin MaKhia Goff, just 22 years young, left this earth — but not without leaving a lasting glow behind.

Born on February 21, 2003, Brooklin entered the world with a spark that never faded. She was unique, fierce, bright, intelligent, beautiful, and effortlessly unforgettable. Brooklin didn’t just walk into a room — she arrived, lighting up every space with her energy, her presence, and that unmistakable laugh everyone loved.

Full of life, Brooklin was the heart of every party. Wild and free, deeply loving, and always unapologetically herself — she lifted those around her and chased her dreams with bold determination. She had aspirations of becoming a lawyer or social worker, always driven by a desire to help others. Brooklin was beyond smart — she was a force.

She loved the outdoors, especially time spent on the lake or at the beach. She loved herself, and she knew she was unforgettable. Brooklin made sure her time on this earth mattered.

Her story is far from ordinary, because she was far from ordinary. She filled every moment with love, laughter, and brilliance. She faced life’s challenges with strength and found ways to overcome them — always.

Brooklin was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Charlie E. Goff (Pete); her paternal grandparents, Elaine Alexander (“Chicken Woman”) and Stanley Thompson; and special friends Ashley Clark, Joseph Jackson, and Jamari McCoy — all of whom held special places in her heart.

She is survived by her loving parents, Veronica Goff and Curtis DaWayne Coles; her maternal grandmother, Shirley Goff; her paternal great-grandmother, Ann Robertson; Brooklin is also survived by her siblings: Sierra Goff (Brooklyn), Trayvon Cashwell (Kali), Drake Coles, Ari Boose, Marilyn Alston, and Za’Niyah Coles.

She leaves behind many bonus siblings who meant the world to her: Jasmine Burton, Julius Witcher, Kevin Goff, Olivia Goff, Charlie Blake, Amya Morgan, Aleia Oakley, and Victoria Lawhorn.

Brooklin was a proud aunt to her beautiful niece, Kalani Goff, and her beloved nephews, Kashton Cashwell and Kannon Parker.

Her love extended beyond family to a close-knit circle of friends who were like family: Madison Shockley, Hannah Peters, Riley Woods (Corey H), Jaezha Robertson, Natalia Robertson, Riley Stanley, and Perpetua Saint Jean, Brianna Tiller, and Brooklynn Johnson — each of whom shared in her laughter, adventures, and unforgettable memories.

Brooklin was also blessed with two godmothers, Lorna Goff and Brandi Morgan, who poured love and support into her life. Among her many aunts, uncles, and cousins, her bond with cousin Tanasia Smith was especially deep and lasting.

Brooklin is deeply missed by all who knew her. Though our hearts are heavy, we choose to celebrate her life — one that was lived boldly, brightly, and on her own terms.
