Buena Virginia Tyree Ferguson Brooks, 91, of Lynchburg, VA, went to be with her Lord on Friday, November 16, 2018.
She was born October 15, 1927 in Amherst County to the late Robert Ellis Tyree and Bessie Shomo Tyree.
Buena was a member of Living Word Baptist Church, retired from Imperial Reading, was an extraordinary seamstress and once she retired she enjoyed her crafts, reading her bible and gardening.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husbands, Grayson Edward Ferguson Sr., and Thomas Lee Brooks; siblings, Ellis Harding Tyree, John David Tyree, and Bessie Elizabeth Tyree Kirkland and granddaughter, Kimberly Jane Daniel.
Buena is survived by her children, Betty Daniel and her husband, Arthur, Brenda K. Ferguson, Grayson E. Ferguson Jr., and his fiancé Diane, Aaron P. Ferguson and his wife Tricia, and Mark L. Ferguson and his wife Clair; 14 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Bedford County Nursing Home, Centra Hospice-Bedford, and all the cards and visits from TRBC.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association: 1022 Commerce Street, Lynchburg VA, 24504.
The family will receive friends Monday, November 19, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with a funeral service immediately following. Burial will take place following the service at Concord Cemetery.
