Callie Margaret Parish Newton died peacefully while holding her son’s hand in the early morning hours on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Westminster Canterbury, Lynchburg, Virginia at the age of 89 years after a protracted illness.

She spent most of her life in Crystal Springs, Mississippi where she loved her family, and adored living in her rural home. Gardening and her pets were her loves. It was important for her to provide meals to all who visited. She relished sharing her plants with anyone who was willing to plant one in his or her own yard. She spent the last years of her life in Lynchburg, Virginia with her son and daughter-in-law where she continued to give love, smiles and hugs. She will be missed more than she could have imagined and by more people than she could have imagined.
