Calvin Wayne Bailey
Calvin Wayne Bailey, 81, of Rustburg, VA, died Friday, December 21, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He is survived by his devoted wife of sixty-four years, Arlene Daniel Bailey.
He was the son of the late Ernest Randolph Bailey and the late Inez Tweedy Bailey. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond H. Bailey and a sister, Ernestine B. Peak.
He is survived by three children, Bonnie B. Gunter and her husband, Charlie of Concord; Bradford D. Bailey and his fiancé, Yvonne Eisenhauer, of Lynchburg; and Stacey B. Kearney and her fiancé, Peter James, of Baltimore. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Jennifer Jennings and her husband John Forester, Chad Gunter and his fiancé Jennifer Bryant, Ace Bailey, Wynn Bailey, and Bethany Kearney, and one great-grandchild Grace Olivia Forester.
Calvin was a Loan Officer at Central Fidelity Bank in Rustburg and was a member of New Chapel Baptist Church. He was an inspiration to his family and all who knew him. Although he faced many health issues since his stroke at 42 years old, he maintained a positive outlook and cheerful disposition.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Gardens Unit at the Summit Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at New Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Timothy Dooley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2012 in New Chapel Baptist Church.
