Carl Vaughan Arrington, Sr.

Carl Vaughan Arrington, Sr., 74, of Goode, died on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born in Bedford Co., on July 17, 1936 a son of the late Leslie Ray Arrington and Lucy Vaughan Arrington. In addition to his parents Carl was preceded in death by two brothers, William Arrington and Edward Arrington.Carl served his country with the National Guard. He was a member of Sedalia Baptist Church. Carl loved working on the farm after retiring as a mechanic from Ryder Truck Company. Carl was survived by his loving wife Shirley McKinney Arrington; five children, Carl V. Arrington, Jr., Barry R. Arrington, Bruce A. Arrington, Janet M. Brunk and Cheryl Cheek and her husband, James; eight grandchildren, Morgan Arrington, Chance Cheek, Cameron Cheek, Robert Brunk, Jonathan Brunk, Carl Arrington III, Joshua Overstreet, Joseph Overstreet; two sisters, Rachel Hudson and Roberta Helms; also a host of nieces and nephews.A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, March 28, 2011 at Virginia Memorial Park with the Pastor Mike Jones officiating.
