Carla Clemans Warner
11/27/1969 – 04/21/2022
On Thursday, April 21, 2022, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Carla Clemans Warner, 52, passed away peacefully in her home after a six-year battle with breast cancer.
Carla graduated from Gallatin High School, in Gallatin, TN, in 1988, and from Middle Tennessee State University in 1993. She obtained her Masters Degree in Social Work from University of Tennessee in 1995 and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 1998. She spent her professional life tirelessly dedicated to helping others. She served as an in-home crisis counselor, a clinical director, a privately practicing Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a state clinical director and most recently The State Chief Compliance Director for Hope Tree Family Services. She was proud of her work and was passionate about teaching others. The number of professionals that she mentored, supervised, trained, and influenced is immeasurable.
Carla was even more passionate about life. She loved her house and decorating it for friends. She was always willing and wanting to host a get together or a party. She loved her Peloton, amassing over 400 rides and often traveling to Charlotte or New York with friends to ride live. She loved to travel, and it didn’t matter where to. From a trip to Asheville, to a weekend in Paris, to Mexico, to Puerto Rico, to The Dominican Republic, to Italy, to New York, to Avon, to The British Virgin Islands or wherever, if she was with friends and family, she was happy.
Carla loved the simple things as well. Few things made her happier than floating down a river on her kayak with the ones she loved or sitting down with friends with a nice AFOG cake stout. If you played September by Earth, Wind and Fire, she would start a dance party.
Carla is survived by her parents, Charles and Connie Clemans of Christiana, TN, her husband Wes Warner and their son Cameron Warner, her sister Carrie Bawcum (Richie Bawcum), of Murfreesboro, TN, her nieces and nephews; Jack and Reagan Bawcum and Andrew and Eliza Warner and so many close friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Tree Family Services at 860 Mount Vernon Lane, Salem, VA 24153.
Carla wanted her life to be remembered as a joyous event and so that’s what we will do. A Celebration of Life will be arranged this summer.
