Carlton Ferris Lacy

Carlton Ferris Lacy, 87, of Bedford, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015, at his residence. He was the loving husband of the late Tove Grethe  Juul Christensen Lacy.  Born April16, 1927 in Bedford; he was a son of the late John Frank Lacy and Gracie Padgett Lacy.

Carlton enjoyed fishing and traveling when he was younger. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII where he served as an MP with the 382nd MP Battalion Company B. Carlton was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.

Carlton is survived by his daughter Linda Lacy Sowards and husband, James Roy, of Bedford and a brother, Aubrey Lacy of Lynchburg.

A Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Tharp Funeral Home with Rev. Richard H. Ecklund and Rev. Paul W. Greer officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park with military honors by American Legion Post #16.

The Family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 PM on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford.
