Carol Sue McAlexander

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carol Sue McAlexander, age 79, of Lynchburg, Virginia on July 9, 2024. Born on November 9, 1944, in Portsmouth, VA, Carol was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.

Carol was the devoted mother of three wonderful children: David McAlexander and his wife Lisa of Chesterfield; Dale McAlexander of Lynchburg; and Darrin McAlexander and his wife Tina of Lynchburg. Carol took immense pride and delight in her four grandchildren: Genevieve, Liam, Rachelle, and Isaiah, each of whom brought a bright light into her life.

A woman of grace and compassion, Carol's legacy is one of love and kindness. She was known for her warm heart, her dedication to her family, and her unwavering support for those she loved. Carol's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family will hold a funeral service to honor Carol's life on July 18, 2024, at 11:00a.m. at Tharp Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched so many hearts.

Carol’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. Her love and warmth will continue to inspire and comfort us as we remember the beautiful person she was.
