Carol Ring Tomlin, 74, of Lynchburg entered Heaven on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 after a brief illness. Carol was the daughter of the late Ira Edgar Ring and Ruth Hurt Ring-Paulette.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her son Robert Taylor and brother Dale Ring.
Carol is survived by her sons: SSG Scott Taylor and his wife Marissa, Michael Taylor and his wife, Marilyn, and Joshua Sizemore; a brother Wayne Ring, and his wife Pat, a nephew Kevin Ring, grandchildren: Monica, Leslie, Sheila, Samantha, Bobbi Lee, Ryan, Cody, and La-Rayna, nine great-grandchildren, and cousin Dr. Tabitha Daniel and husband LTC Doug Lathrem
Carol loved \"Sonny Corinthos\" from General Hospital, Toby Keith, George Jones, Rambo, and Bill O\"™reilly. Carol loved her travels. She took great joy in her family\"™s accomplishments. Christmas was her favorite time with all the decorations, lights, family time, and gift giving for family and friends. Carol was greatly respected and loved. She also loved going to concerts. Wal-Mart was her favorite place to go along with Texas Tavern.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A celebration of Carol's life will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Kathy Nicholls officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
