Carolyn Ann Overstreet

Carolyn Ann Overstreet, 70, of Bedford passed away on Friday March 31, 2023 at Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 19, 1952 in Bedford, VA. She is the daughter of the late James Robert Overstreet and Louise “Missy” Virginia Carter Overstreet. In addition to her parents Carolyn was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Allen Overstreet and her sister, Helen Mae Overstreet.

Carolyn was a very positive and devoted Godly woman. She loved to read and have study time in her Bible. She also enjoyed working puzzles, reflecting on old times with her family and always enjoyed company and time spent with her children and family, especially her nieces and nephews. She retired from Bedford Memorial Hospital. Carolyn was loved dearly and will be missed by all that knew her.

Carolyn is survived by her two children, Melanie Denise Smith and her husband, Ottis, and William McKinley “Ricky” Cobb and his wife, Charlotte; two grandchildren, Cassandra Christina Cobb and Allyson Renee Cobb; four great-grandchildren, two brothers, James “Sonny” Overstreet and his wife, Vickie and Raymond “Butch” Overstreet and his wife, Joyce; four sisters, Lois O. Holland, Frances Stanley and her husband, W.R., Edith Hall, and Janet Brown and her husband, Alan. Also surviving are numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and so many friends.

Per Carolyn’s request following cremation, she will be buried at Holy Land Cemetery.
