Carolyn Denise Toms Amos

March 19, 1968 — September 18, 2024

Bedford

Carolyn "Denise" Toms Amos passed away in her home on September 18, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ogan Woodrow "Woody" Amos Jr and her parents, Daniel Bernard Toms and Donna Parrish Toms.

Denise was born in Bedford on March 19, 1968. She was a wild child and bad to the bone. She loved fiercely and suffered no fools. An avid music and nature lover, one of her favorite activities was sitting on her new back porch (built by special family friends Ed and Steve Ware), listening to music and enjoying the view of the mountains and her father's homeplace. Most people probably didn't know, but she also loved to write. Her stories were entertaining and heartwarming and will be cherished forever. She also loved animals, especially cats and birds, becoming a dedicated bird watcher using her parents bird house. Really, she just loved making everyone laugh. However, the most important thing Denise would want you to know about her is that she loved the Lord and how important it is to be saved. She spread the news when she could and spent many hours in deep study of the Bible and prayer.

We will miss her deeply as she touched all of our lives with laughter, love, hope, and a reality check when necessary! (Said with love) Surviving are her three beloved children, Callie Mae McCauley and son-in-law Sam, Daniel Woodrow Amos, and James William Amos. Her precious grandchildren, Bailey Mae Amos and Brantley Cole Amos. Her devoted sister, Danielle Toms Kernen and Joey. Her loving aunts and uncles, nieces, cousins, and sweet family friends. In lieu of flowers, Denise would have liked for you to consider making donations to Suck Spring Southern Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Suck Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Cox officiating.
