Carolyn Goff

Carolyn Brown Goff passed away on November 19, 2023, in Santa Fe, New Mexico at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marguerite Elizabeth Cardwell, her brother Richard Russell Brown and her husband, John Edwin Goff.  
Surviving are her three children, Carol Goff Taylor (Biv) of Santa Fe, NM, Sandra Goff Blackwell (Claughton) of Wicomico Church, VA, and John Edwin Goff, II (Candy) of Augusta, Georgia.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren and six great-children.  
Carolyn was born in Lynchburg, Virginia but upon her marriage to John, they traveled throughout the United States and Europe as John was an officer in the United States Army.  Carolyn never lost her love of travel, as she continued to travel after her life as a military wife.   As a devoted mother to her three children, Carolyn dedicated her life to motherhood during the children’s years at home.  Her second career began once the children were in their own careers.  Carolyn spent over 25 years volunteering in two hospital gift shops which provided a charitable purpose.   In addition, Carolyn volunteered at her local church office in McDonough, Georgia and at several military installations.  Carolyn’s yearly highlights were the family Christmas holiday celebration and the annual beach vacation to Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. 
 A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, Va 24502.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rustburg United Methodist Church, 664 Village Hwy Rustburg, Va 24588 or Cure PSP, 325 Hudson Street, 4th Floor, New York, NY  10013
