Carolyn Layne Jenkins

 

Carolyn Layne Jenkins 66, of Rustburg passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Virginia Baptist Hospital.  She was the wife of John Richard Jenkins Sr.   

Born June 10th, 1946, in Lynchburg.  She was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Mary Perry Layne.  Preceding her in death sisters Virginia Tolley and Doris Hash, brothers Berry Layne, Jeanie Layne, and James Layne. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, John Jenkins Jr. and wife Sharon or Rustburg, David Jenkins Sr and wife Kathy of Rustburg and Brian Jenkins and wife Beth of Rustburg. Six grandchildren Amanda, John III, David Jr, Brittany, Ashlyn and Brianna.  Brother Roger Layne and sisters Mary Dunkley, Patricia Hendricks, and Phyllis Hendricks and countless nieces and nephews.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She will be missed but never forgotten. 

Services will be held Saturday, February 16th at 11am at Tharp Funeral Home on 220 Breezewood Dr. Lynchburg with Dr. Melvin Campbell officiating.
