Carrie Agnes Terry Davis, 83, of Forest, Va., went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. She was a Godly, loving, selfless Mother, Nanny, Great- Nanny, and a sister that will be missed deeply. She was the loving, devoted wife of the late Earl M. Davis, Jr. for 63 years.
She was born on August 31, 1934, in Goshen, Va. Agnes was the daughter of the late Oval Edward Terry and Margaret Pauline Landrum Terry.
She leaves behind her two daughters, Diane Davis Wilson & Kelly Davis Mann; a son, William “Billy” Davis, Jeff Wilson, husband of Diane; Brad Mann, husband of Kelly; and Charlotte Davis, wife of Billy. Grandchildren, Jeffrey Wilson, Jacob Davis, Brittany Morris, Peyton Mann, Se’Anna Mann, and Dalton Mann; great-grandchild, Kinsley Wilson.
In addition, she is survived by seven sisters: Annabelle Martin, Lorraine Thompson, Juanita Seay, Mary Roadcap, Easia Farthing, Geraldine Nichols, Brenda Grishaw; and one brother, Carl Terry; many nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her husband, and parents, she was preceded in death by a loving son, Alan Morris Davis.
Agnes was a graduate of Philips Business College. After graduating from Phillips, Agnes worked at the Central Virginia Training Center and B & W for many years till she went to work at Davis Auto Service, where she served as the secretary and vice president for over 50 years until she retired. She was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. Agnes loved spending time reading God’s word and spent a lot of time praying. Her Faith was what carried her through her life. Agnes was a devoted wife, mother, nanny, and great-nanny that lived her whole life for her family and their needs. She was a giver, and she did without so others could have. Agnes leaves a great legacy and will be deeply missed by family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 19, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg. A celebration of Agnes’s life will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 20181, in Pate Chapel at Thomas Road Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow in Presbyterian Cemetery.
