Casey Mays

Casey Mays, age 36, of Monroe, Virginia, passed away on May 23rd, 2024, getting ready to do one of the things she loved the most, go floating.

Casey was born on July 5th, 1987, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to Ricky Mays and Ruth Wright. She graduated from Amherst County High school while pregnant with her first.

Casey enjoyed floating, being near or in water, being in the mountains, photography, the color green, turtles, flower (if ykyk), Dr. Pepper, and making the people she loved smile. Casey always said her biggest achievement was her children.

Casey is survived by her husband, Anthony Stinson; her children: Jorden Ashley and Jazyn Sibold; mother, Ruth Wright; siblings: Brad Mays and wife Michelle Mays, Jeff Mays, Brooke Byrd and husband Jameke Byrd, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends that she loved deeply.

She is predeceased by her father, Ricky Mays; Brother, Justin Mays; nephew, Ethan Mays; and she reunited with her grandson, Paxton Glover, who had previously passed.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 30th, 2024, at 2 P.M. at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights, Virginia. A visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service.
