Catherine Early Mitchell departed this life on Friday, March 23, 2018. She was born on April 4, 1931 to the late Ernest and Louvenia Randolph Early. Catherine was preceded in death by her sisters Louise Lee, Arlene Moore, and Shirley Barnes; and brothers Harrison Early and Ronald Early.
Catherine is survived by her children, Janet Jackson, Martha Jackson-Jarvis (Bernard, Sr.), and W. Donald Mitchell, Jr.; her four grandchildren, Niambi Afi Jarvis, Njeri Jarvis, Bernard Jarvis, Jr., and Njena Jarvis; her four great-grandchildren, Isaiah McKnight, Elijah McKnight, Isis Jarvis, and Aurora Jarvis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Friday, March 30, 2018, at Mount Zion Baptist Church with Reverend Jesse L. Hancock officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
