Catherine Noel Newman
Catherine Noel Newman, 84, of Lynchburg, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012. Born December 23, 1927; she was the daughter of the late John Calvin Noel and Maude Crawford Noel and the widow of Roland Hawkins Newman.
Born in Lynchburg, Virginia; she was a graduate of E.C. Glass High School.
In addition to her husband and parents, Catherine was preceded in death by two brothers; Bill Noel and Russell Noel; and one sister, Lillian Powell.
She is survived by her sons, Fred (Donna) Newman of Richmond, and Don Newman of Lynchburg; her daughter, Suzanne (Edward) Spruell of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Caroline Spruell, Bennett and Ansley Newman; and two step-grandchildren, Conrad Loprete and Ronna Nouri.
Graveside services will be conducted 12 Noon, Wednesday, May 2, 2012, in Terrace View Baptist Church Cemetery on Matthew Talbot Road, Forest. Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, 434-237-9424, is assisting the family.
