Catherine Woodford Ferguson

Catherine Lee Woodford Ferguson, 96, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Born August 9, 1917 in Bedford County; she was a daughter of the late William Osborne Woodford and Maggie Wooldridge Woodford.

In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Ammon Ferguson, a brother, Jessie Lloyd Woodford and wife, Helen. She is survived by her daughter; Jane Rakos of Bedford, grandchildren; Kimberly Russell of Richmond, Chad Rakos and his wife, Allison of Forest; great-grandchildren, Luke Rakos, Lucy Rakos of Forest, also numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bedford Christian Church Building Fund, 1928 Moneta Road, Bedford, VA 24523.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm, Monday, January 20, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Chapel with Rev. William H. Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. Anyone wishing to pay their respect in advance without the family being present visitation hours will be between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the funeral home. The family will formally receive friends one hour prior at Tharp Funeral Home.
