Cathy Goodman Laughlin

Cathy Goodman Laughlin, 61, of Forest, died on Thursday, February 17, 2011.  She was born in Bedford on July 19, 1949 a daughter of the late Booker Carson Goodman and the late Bessie Hortense Laughlin Goodman.

Cathy is survived by her daughters, Tonya Moore and husband, Michael of Goode and Candy Austin and her husband, Michael,of Forest; her brother, William C. \"Billy\" Goodman of Lynchburg; her sister, Phyllis \"Trudy\" Treadway and husband, Fremon of Altavista; and her grandchildren, Jessica Marie Austin and Olivia Carson Moore.

In addition to her parents, Cathy was predeceased by her brother, David S. Goodman and her sisters, Florence G. Witt, Arlene G. Wilson, and Geraldine F. Saunders.

Cathy was affectionately known as \"Nanny Puddin\". She was a strong lady who loved her family. She worked many years for S. H. Franklin Men\"™s Clothing Store in the fashionable downtown Lynchburg, and   retired from the Bedford County Administrator\"™s Office.  Cathy adored her two grandchildren and rarely missed an opportunity to attend any event they were involved in.  She was a member of Pisgah Presbyterian Church.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 19, 2011, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, and at other times at the residence.  A funeral service will held a 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Pisgah Presbyterian Church, Goode. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
