Cecil James Brooks, Jr, J.B., 70, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Guggenheimer Nursing Home under Hospice Care, due to his heart failure.
He was born on July11, 1947 in Greensboro NC to the late Cecil James Brooks, Sr. and Dorothy Marie Cox. He was a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and remained an avid Tar Heel all his life. He was retired from banking and equipment leasing, but his true passion was in buying, selling and trading gold and silver.
He is survived by his only child Lauren Marie Brooks of Spouts Spring, VA, an aunt, cousin, and many dear friends. The family will hold a private memorial service.
J.B. took great pride in his volunteer work at Pearson Cancer Center and Cardiopulmonary Rehab. He was a man of immense intelligence and loved chatting over a cold drink at the local pub. But above all else, he was incredibly proud of his daughter and loved her more than anything in the world .He will live on in the hearts of all he touched.
