Sept. 25, 1979 – April 17, 2012

 

Chandra Hunt, 32, passed away at Lynchburg General Hospital. She is survived by Kathleen Ewers (mother), Ballard Ewers (stepfather), three brothers Robert, Zack, Xavier, and numerous relatives and friends. Chandra's memory will also always be cherished by her loving father, Robert Hunt, stepmother, Bette, her two stepbrothers, August and Brendan Heisler and her longtime friend and companion of many years, James Morton. Her special connection with her dear little pet and therapy dog, Rhett, will never be broken.

 

 Chandra attended E.C. Glass High School until a swimming accident left her paralyzed at age 15. She went thru lengthy rehabilitation at Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro, Va. Since then she has devoted her time to doing volunteer work at the Lynchburg Humane Society. Also with her therapy dog Rhett, she would do volunteer work at area schools and nursing homes. Due to health reasons she was unable to continue her volunteer work. Chandra had a selfless desire to help others and her charm will be missed.

 

 Service will be at Boonsboro United Methodist Church on April 28th at 11am. Kathy's email: [email protected]. The Hunt family will receive friends Sunday, April 22nd at 2pm at 3304 Goode Station Rd in Goode. A memorial service will be held in Massachusetts with immediate family.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lynchburg Humane Society in Chandra Rhea Hunt's name. Thanks to all the staff at Lynchburg General MICU and Doctors and all of your prayers.
