Charles Edward Adams

Charles Edward (Eddie) Adams, age 76, of Bedford, Virginia passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024. 

Eddie was born in the coal mining mountains of Appalachia, Virginia to Charles and Irene Adams on October 21, 1947. In May, 1993 he married the love of his life Yolanda in Reston, Virginia, sharing 31 years of devotion.

After completing his USMC military service, Eddie would spend 40 plus years installing communication systems in the Washington D.C. area. After retirement and while living at the Outer Banks, he was tapped to install the communication system for President Bush’s visit at the 100th anniversary of the Wright Brothers Memorial.

Eddie and Yolanda enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their RV, walking icebergs in Alaska, and touring the European Mediterranean. Their beach home in the Outer Banks was a gathering point for a multitude of friends and relatives for many years, but the mountains of Virginia always held a special place in his heart.

Eddie enjoyed buying and selling automobiles, which over the years counted over 45. Small in stature but large of heart, Eddie had unwavering love for his canine companions and spent years fostering his furry friends and volunteering at shelters.

Eddie is survived by his wife, his two stepsons Eugene and Anthony Cowan, and three grandchildren; his sister Shirley Campbell and a multitude of nieces and nephews; a sister in law, Susan Maroscher; and his two Cocker Spaniels Onyx and Cleo. Eddie was predeceased by his parents and his sister Joyce Campbell.

A celebration of Eddie’s life will be held 10:00am Saturday, July 13 at Tharp Funeral Home, 320 N Bridge St, Bedford, VA.
