Charles "Charlie" Elders, Jr.

Charles “Charlie” M. Elders, Jr., 97. Of Lynchburg passed away Friday, June 16, 2023. He was the husband of the late Juanita Elders for 57 years.
Born in South Columbia, SC on April 9, 1926 he was a son of the late Charles Elders, Sr. and Hattie Mae Elders. He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by three children, Michael Elders, Charlene Nicks, and Cynthia Stephens; three siblings, Mary Ellen McDowell, Elizabeth Piper and Bobby Elders.
Charlie is survived by his son, Charles Elders, III (Terry) of Alabama; siblings, Grace Elders Matthews of North Charleston, SC, Susie Waddell (Jim), Margaret Rodgers, Sherry Jackson, Jimmy Elders (Pat) and Randy Elders (Jo-Ellen); grandchildren, Anthony Elders, Wayne Elders, Joy Tyree (Will) and Rebecca Nicks; great-grandchildren, Ian, Nathaniel, Allie, Anderson and Alex; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Vicky Litchford for the loving care she provided.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Presbyterian Cemetery with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating.
