Charles Edward Bowman

Charles Edward Bowman, 72, of Madison Heights, VA, died Friday, November 4, 2011 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. Born July 19, 1939 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Charles Henry and Nelda Leone Bowman. Charles was the loving husband of Sybil Bowman for 48 years.

Charles proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years and during   Vietnam. After his retirement from the Air Force he worked for the U.S. Government at Fort Lee, Virginia as a computer specialist.

In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his daughter, Yvette Strickland , Cheryll Bowman, Mark Bowman and wife Cynthia, and Laura Endy and husband Mark, five grandchildren and sisters: Linda Mangol, Charlotte Jones, and Debbie Chambliss.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Liberty Chapel Building, at the corner of 9100 C Avenue and Mahone, Fort Lee, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center, 1920 Atherholt Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
