Charles Edward Wilson Jr. (Charlie), 67, of Lynchburg, VA, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021.
Born in July 5, 1953 in Fluvanna County, VA, Charles was a son of the late Charles Edward Wilson, Sr. and the late Edith Blodgett Osborne
Charlie is survived by his siblings Linda K. (Jim) Gregory, Thomas B. Wilson, Barbara J. Haughton, Nancy (Roger) Green, E. Annette (Danny) Williams, Paul S. (Sherri) Wilson and John B. Wilson and by his children Jason (Becca) Wilson, Amanda Gillis, Erin Hebblethwaite, Rebecca (Travis) Howell. He is also survived by his grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Charles did many things in his life including serving his country in the US Air Force and his community as volunteer firefighter in Palmyra. He was an outdoors man at heart. On any weekend you could find him out in the Blue Ridge Mountains. He loved hiking, camping, exploring or just driving the parkway. Charlie also enjoyed working in his gardens over the years growing beautiful flowers or an abundance of fruit and vegetables. He was a talented craftsman and could produce beautiful woodwork, drawings, paintings, and virtually anything he tried his hand at. Finally, Charlie loved to bake, cook and feed people. His family was always welcomed with a culinary feast at his table and he loved adapting and readapting recipes until he found the perfect combination to suit his exacting tastes.
Charlie will be sorely missed and a celebration of life will be conducted at a later time
