Charles Lynwood Roberts

Charles Lynwood Roberts, 93, of Bedford, died on Friday, November 7, 2014, at the English Meadows-Elks National Home Campus. He was the husband of the late Mildred Virginia Saunders.
Lynwood was born on December 19, 1920 in Bedford County, to the late Charles Bruce Roberts and Helen Cheek Roberts. Lynwood is also preceded in death by his sister, Marie Roberts and husband, Howard Arthur.
He was retired Vice President and Assistant General Manager of the Rubatex Corp. He was a member of Morgan Baptist Church, the Bedford Moose Lodge #1897 and the Bedford Elks Lodge #2844.
Lynwood is survived by his daughter, Lynne R. King and husband, Earl; two grandchildren, Kimberley and husband, Bryan Allen; Kelli and husband, Stephen Bock. Eight great-grandchildren, Drew, Ana and Andrew Allen; Hunter, Iveigh, Colton, Lyllah and Juddah Bock; niece, Patsy Arthur Honts; and nephew, Robert Arthur.

A celebration of Lynwood’s life will be conducted 11 AM, Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at Tharp Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dr. David L. Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
