Charles Walter Woody
Charles Walter Woody, 81, of Madison Heights, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010. He was the husband of Elizabeth Gale Davis Woody.
Mr. Woody was born May 17, 1928, in Madison Heights, a son of the late Walter Edward Woody and Mary Proffitt Woody. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Montague-Betts where he worked in materials and was a member of Madison Heights Baptist Church.
He is survived by a special nephew, Henry E. Woody and his wife, Kathleen of Arrington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Woody, and three sisters: Audrey Woody, Ann Anderson and Ruth Seifiert.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 \"" 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 AM with the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in Meade Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post #16.
