Charlie (Chuck) Randolph Tucker, husband of Anne Wilson Tucker, died Monday, May 4, 2015. He was born in Gladys, VA on May 6, 1925, son of the late Ottie W. and Estelle Hodnett Tucker.
Chuck was a veteran of World War II, serving in three campaigns in the European Theater of Operations. Subsequent to his discharge from the Army, he enlisted in the USAF and retired in 1965 after 20 years of service. Chuck returned to Lynchburg with his family and worked for General Electric Co. He was an active member of Fort Hill United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Susan Kepler (Chris) of Forest, and a son, Charles (Chip) Tucker (Frances) of Lynchburg. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Alexis Kepler of Delray Beach, FL and Chloe Piccione (John) of Boca Raton, FL; two sisters, Madeline Graham (Bobby) of Lynchburg and Maxine Moore (Bob) of Fredericksburg; a brother-in-law, Robert Wilson (Judy) of Beaverton, OR and sister-in-law, Patricia Petty (Kim) of Essex, England. He also leaves behind his beloved pet, George.Preceding him in death are a son, Steven Andrew Tucker and an infant daughter, Lisa Marie Tucker; four brothers, Woodie L., Carter P., William C., and John F. Tucker.
A memorial service will be held at The Scatter Garden at the Old City Cemetery, Fourth and Taylor Streets at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2015.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Patrick Henry Boys Home, 860 Red hill Rd., Brookneal, VA 24528, or a charity of choice.
