Charlie Lewis Schuler, 81, of Bedford, VA went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 4, 2018. He was the loving husband of Patricia Anne Schuler.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Charlene Schuler of Fuquay Varina, NC and John Schuler; step-children, Gail Butler of Chesterfield, VA, Mark Thomasson of Rockledge, Fla., Carol Delledera of Bedford, VA; half-brother, John Schuler; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Born Thursday, April 22, 1937 in Gastonia, North Carolina, Charlie was the son of John Vestal Schuler and Alvenia Schuler. Charlie and his wife, Pat, were joyously united in holy matrimony for nearly 34 years. It was Charlie and Pat’s second marriage and was a most blessed one. Charlie worked as a respiratory therapist for Bedford Memorial Hospital where he helped many patients through their illnesses and made many friends. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Charlie will be greatly missed by all here on Earth, but we know he will be welcomed in to heaven.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Bedford on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. Following the service, a reception will take place.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
