Charlotte Grow Day

Charlotte Grow Day, 70, of Big Island, VA, died Saturday, January 28, 2012. She was the wife of Paul Warren Day Sr., for 26 years.

Born Tuesday, March 04, 1941 in Richmond, VA, Charlotte was a daughter of the late Hazel Edmunds Grow and the late Howard Alexander Grow.

In addition to her husband Charlotte is survived by three daughters: Marcia F. Daly and her husband, James, of Lakeland, FL, Belinda L. Carroll and her husband, Dean, of Big Island, and Jennifer Poindexter and her husband, Lewis, of Lynchburg; a son: Terry Lee and his wife, Chris, of Rustburg; a step-daughter: Heather Overstreet and her husband, James, of Altavista; a step-son: Paul W. Day, Jr. and his fiancé, Angie Weakly, of Lynchburg; three sisters: Gloria Litchford, of Richmond, VA, Darlene Salmon and her husband, Reuban, of Richmond, VA , and Audrey Kirby and her husband, Herbert, of Montpelier, VA; 14 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by two sons: Alan Lee, and Wayne Lee, and a brother: Howard Grow.

Charlotte will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved the outdoors, whether she was fishing or working in her flower garden. She loved being around people, the more the merrier. She and Paul especially loved taking cruises.

A celebration of Charlotte's life will be held at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Bryon LePere officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior, starting at 6 p.m.
