Cherie Virginia Driskill Miller of Lynchburg VA, took Jesus hand and passed through Heaven’s gate June 5th, 2014 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was surrounded by family and friends. Choir members of The Bridge Community Church, where Cherie was a member serenaded her as she made her final journey home. She was the loving wife of Mark Paul Miller.
Cherie was born August 1, 1955 in Lynchburg VA, a daughter of the late Willis H. and Idamae Curd Driskill. In addition to her husband Mark, Cherie is survived by one son, Dane Larson Miller; one daughter, Crystal Denise Low and her husband Michael; six grandchildren, Jonathan Cash, Austin Low, Cassie Low, Taylor Blankenship, Jamie Low, and Samantha Blankenship; one Great-Granddaughter, Allison Cash; two brothers, Willis H. Driskill Jr. and his wife Janet and Jesse D. Driskill his wife Deborah; two sisters, Patricia D. Doss and her husband Winfred and Jacqueline D. Helms and her husband Norman; two nieces that she loved as her “baby sisters,” Rena D. Trent and Rhonda H. Puckette and her husband Will Puckette, who was a childhood friend; and her faithful American Eskimo Dog: “Cooper.”
A celebration of Cherie’s life will be held Saturday June 14, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at New Chapel Baptist Church: 2084 New Chapel Road Rustburg VA, 24588 with Pastor William Westgate officiating.
The family would like to Thank Centra Hospice, the doctors and nurses at UVA 8-West and the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Baptist Hospital, Winston Salem. NC, for their care and kindness shown during her illness.
