Christine Meckling died peacefully on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Tina was born January 9, 1918 in Philadelphia, PA and lived her entire life in the area until moving to Lynchburg with her husband in 2001 to be near family.
She was predeceased by her husband, George, a daughter; Joyce Humrichouse and two sons-in-law, C. Peter Humrichouse and Richards s. Royer.
Tina is survived by a daughter; Carole M. Royer, seven grandchildren, (to whom she was affectionately known as Mom-Mom) Bruce R. Royer (Heather), David M. Royer (Anne), Susan Royer Schlabach (Randy), Stephen A. Royer (Blake) James W. Humrichouse (Nina), Kimberly and Jennifer Humrichouse, and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her immediate family, Aunt Tina, the extreme optimist with a fantastic memory and a big heart was much loved and respected by her many nieces and nephews who often called upon her for support and links to the family history.
Tina attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 10:00 am with a reception to follow.
